AHMEDABAD: Police on Monday filed a complaint of abetment to suicide against Dr Hitendra Patel, an orthopaedist from Ghatlodia, for allegedly driving his wife to suicide by deviant sexual behaviour and maltreatment ever since they got married in August 2020.
Police said Harsha Patel, 39, had written her last statement on her right thigh before poisoning herself outside her husband’s house at Devkutir Bungalows in Ghatlodia on Tuesday. Police later found an 18-page suicide note from her house.
In her suicide note, she accused Hitendra of forcibly having sex with her everyday and subjecting her to unnatural sex. “As Hitendra is a doctor, he gave me sedatives every day due to which I would be half-conscious and he would forcibly have sex and unnatural sex with me,” reads the suicide note.
The bird was tagged at the Khas Us Nur National Park in Mongolia
AHMEDABAD: A greylag goose with a satellite tag from Mongolia was been spotted at the Navatalav wetland near Patdi in Surendranagar district. This has established that these birds migrate to the state in the winter.
This is the second sighting of the same individual bird, in December it had been sighted at Nalsarovar.
Devvratsinh Mori, an ornithologist who photographed the bird in the Navatalav wetland, said he had an in-depth discussion with officials of The Bombay Natural History Society, who said that this bird had been tagged in Mongolia. He said that he had opened communications with experts in Mongolia and is waiting for a reply from them.
