CONCORD, N.C. (News Release) – Earlier this week, Coca-Cola Racing Family driver Joey Logano met virtually with troops from American Forces Network Pacific and the U.S. Army 38th Air Defense Artillery Brigade from Japan, as part of Charlotte Motor Speedway’s virtual Mission 600. As a prelude to the 62nd running of the Coca-Cola 600 on Memorial Day Weekend, Mission 600 was designed to honor the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces by pairing drivers with military bases to educate the NASCAR community about the day-to-day lives of the men and women who serve.

The 1-265th is “a cohesive and combat-ready battalion of air defenders,” said Col. Sean T. Boyette, commander of the 164th ADA BDE, while commending Bellomo for his leadership. “Your leadership has provided them with the experience required to protect our State and Nation.”
It is no doubt Madovoy is assuming command of a truly experienced battalion. Soldiers with 1-265th ADA BN have honed their air defense skills through extensive training and an arduous operational schedule. In 2015-2016, they were the first National Guard unit mobilized to Afghanistan responsible for operating the Counter-Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar (C-RAM) system. In 2019-2020, Bravo battery deployed
