The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the investigation of a head-on crash that happened on 490 in the town of Victor. Deputies responded to the scene along with Fishers Fire, Bushnell’s Basin Fire, Victor-Farmington Ambulance, and Perinton Ambulance. Deputies say Arthur Carey, 70, of Rochester was traveling east when he crossed the media – striking an electric sign owned by DOT. His vehicle then continued into the westbound lanes of 490 – striking an SUV operated by Robert Kester, 67, of Rochester head-on.

Created: December 24, 2020 12:03 PM VICTOR, N.Y. (WHEC) Deputies in Ontario County say a head-on collision was to blame for delays on  490 near Victor Thursday morning. The Ontario County Sheriff s Office tells us a Rochester man was driving a minivan when he crossed the median and crashed into an electric sign. Deputies say the driver kept going into the westbound land where he then slammed into an SUV. Both drivers were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, but are expected to survive. Deputies say Arthur Carey the driver of the minivan - was ticketed for moving from his lane unsafely. Traffic on the highway is now back to two lanes after a brief closure while crews cleaned up the scene.

Crash in Manchester NY kills 1, injures 1

One person was killed in a head-on crash in Manchester, Ontario County, Sunday night. The crash occurred on County Road 13, east of County Road 7 around 9:50 p.m., the Ontario County Sheriff s Office announced Monday morning. The driver of a sport utility vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The second driver was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. Authorities did not identify the drivers. Further details of the crash were not released. Deputies are investigating the crash. A stretch of County Road 13 was closed for several hours on Sunday but reopened early Monday morning, according to the sheriff s office.

One Person Dead, Another Hospitalized After Head-on Crash Near Manchester

Dec 21, 2020 UPDATE: The two drivers in last night s fatal crash east of Manchester have been identified. 46-year-old Shawn Gedney of Clifton Springs was pronounced dead at the scene on County Route 13. 60-year-old Paul DeMay of Shortsville was airlifted to Strong Hospital, where he continues to recover. The crash remains under investigation. One person is dead, another is in the hospital following a head-on crash east of the village of Manchester. The Ontario County Sheriff s Office says it happened shortly before 10 last night on County Road 13, east of County Road 7. An SUV driver died at the scene. The driver of a sedan was flown to Strong.
