Summer Eats for Kids, a program of United Way/Centraide for Windsor and Essex County, provides weekly boxes of healthy food and snacks to families in need.

“For kids who rely on school nutrition programs, summer can be the hungriest time of year,” said Liam Giles-Hayes, director of programs for United Way. “We can help kids be ready to learn this September if we can help boost their nutrition in the summer months.”

Noelle’s Gift Foundation has donated $65,000 to the Ontario Student Nutrition Program-Lambton (OSNP-Lambton) to support the cost of healthy food for students. The Student Nutrition Program receives provincial base funding from the OSNP of 12 cents per student per day.
This year there are 38 schools providing a Student Nutrition Program that serve approximately 7,400 students every day. All school programs follow COVID-19 safety guidelines for the distribution of snacks to students.
