EU Calls For Immediate End To Escalation In Israel, Palestine
Everything must be done to avoid escalation into broader conflict , according to EU foreign policy chief. The European Union on Wednesday called for an immediate end to the escalation and violence in Israel and Palestine. The grave escalation in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including the major upsurge in violence in and around Gaza, must stop, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said in a statement.
He said that the bloc was dismayed at the large numbers of civilian deaths and injuries, including children, and urged all parties to avoid civilian causalities.

Immediate de-escalation need of the hour, says India on Israel-Gaza violence.
Amid escalating tensions between Israel and Palestinian militants, India has condemned all acts of violence, especially rocket attacks from Gaza, and underlined that âimmediate de-escalationâ is the need of the hour.
Indiaâs Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador TS Tirumurti tweeted on Wednesday that during the Security Council meeting on events in East Jerusalem, he stated that India condemns âall acts of violence, especially rocket attacks from Gaza.â
He mourned the tragic demise of an Indian national in Israel and stressed that âimmediate de-escalation need of (the) hourâ and parties should ârefrain from changing status-quo.â
