(WDAM) - Belhaven University is honoring a well-known author and alum by helping young aspiring writers with a full-ride scholarship. The Angie Thomas Writers Scholarship provides a full-ride scholarship to an incoming creative writing major and additional scholarship awards to other applicants. Now in its second year, the scholarships are named in honor of Angie Thomas, author of New York Times best-selling novels “The Hate U Give” and “On the Come Up.”
