Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On April 19, the Ministry of Finance of Mongolia and Asian Development Bank (ADB) organized a live webinar on Bond Market Guide for Mongolia. More than 180 participants took part in the online event, including ASEAN+3 Bond Market Forum members, ASEAN+3 officials, Asian Impact webinar participants, European investors, Mongolian financial institutions.
ADB has been working closely with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Japan, the People’s Republic of China, and the Republic of Korea collectively known as ASEAN+3 under the Asian Bond Markets Initiative to develop resilient regional financial systems. Mongolia became an official observer of ASEAN+3 Bond Market Forum in 2019. To share the experience and knowledge accumulated under the Asian Bond Markets Initiative (ABMI), the Bond Market Guide for Mongolia was developed along with the ASEAN+3 Bond Market Guide series.

ULAN BATOR, April 19 (Xinhua) The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has launched a bond market guide for Mongolia, the bank s office in the country said Monday.
The creation of a regulatory framework for corporate debt securities for private placements is key to developing Mongolia s bond market, according to a new report of the ADB. The development of local currency bond markets is important, but even more so for countries looking to boost their recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Developed bond markets can support infrastructure finance, which is critical for emerging Asian economies to ensure further economic development, said the report, Bond Market Guide for Mongolia.

Vietnam and China co-chaired the 18th East Asia Forum which was held via video conference on December 10 under the theme of “Strengthening the ASEAN Plus Three Cooperation for Economic and Financial Resilience in the face of Emerging Challenges”.

Attending the event were high-ranking officials, prestigious scholars and experts, and representatives of businesses from 10 ASEAN Member States and China, Japan and the Republic of Korea, and guests from regional and international organisations.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung, who head of the ASEAN SOM of Vietnam, said that the ASEAN Plus Three cooperation, established in 1997 amidst the regional financial crisis, has advantage of actively responding to challenges, notably the SARS 2003, the economic-financial crisis 2008, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
