Breckenridge in reference to a disturbance involving a gun. While officers were in that area, there was a crash reported in the 300 block of N. Missouri with the driver walking away from the scene. Initial investigation indicated that a 30-year-old Mexico man had come to a home on Breckenridge, several times throughout the day, threatening the residents. The residents had called MPSD earlier, but the man had left prior to officer arrival and officers had been unable to locate him. The man returned and began shooting at the home when one of the residents shot back at the man. The man then drove from the scene, crashed his car on N. Missouri, walked to a nearby house, and received a ride to Audrain Community Hospita

Little Dixie Fire Protection District Chief Bill Albus said flames had already enveloped the machine shed when the call went out. Fire crews could only try to knock down the blaze to keep it from spreading to nearby outbuildings. When firefighters arrived flames roared from one end of the building to the other. It took crews from Little Dixie and the Martinsburg Fire Department 45 minutes to extinguish the blaze, which left little standing.
