Cleveland, who is retiring, has served Taylor County for almost 23 years.
In a letter read by Taylor County Judge Downing Bolls, Cleveland said that while he had enjoyed working for and around so many wonderful people within the county, I feel that it is time that I should turn over a new chapter in my life.”
“I have been blessed with so many friends throughout Precinct 4 and most of all, county departments, Cleveland wrote.
Cleveland’s position will be posted immediately, with applications taken over the next two weeks to fill his unexpired term.
