Sometimes, a band makes such a joyful noise – such a euphoric, huge, perfect sound – that they can not only change your mood, but inform your entire world view whilst doing so. You know the feeling: when your body fills with adrenalin and a huge smile spreads over your face, you sway and rock and move almost involuntarily, and all the underlying ideas in the music click perfectly into place, and you
understand, and your brain suddenly feels on fire with wild inspiration, excitement and ideas.
Fuck Buttons (aka
Andrew Hung and
Benjamin John Power) are one such band. They create dense, oceanic drones punctuated with playful flourishes, distorted screams, and battering tribal rhythms dusted with twinkling synth sounds; melodic noise music with a heart full of love.

Street Horrrsing is released via ATP Recordings on March 17. It’s an
experience, less a listen.
The band recently wrapped up a series of UK dates, alongside labelmate
Alexander Tucker, to support the album’s release; they’re presently touring stateside, and will be back in the UK for ATP and a date with Battles in May, as well as a slot on the Primavera Sound bill. But back to the present: below is their diary of their most recent domestic travels in the name of super-amplified aural adventures.
