In letter to Chief Secretary, SEC suggested that the launch be deferred in view of poll code
Justice Joymalya Bagchi of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Sunday directed the government to give a comprehensive reply in two days to the State Election Commission’s (SEC) letter to Chief Secretary Aditya Nath Das, wherein it was suggested that the launching of door delivery of ration in the districts with the involvement of people’s representatives be deferred on the ground that the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) was in force for the gram panchayat elections.
YSRCP requests SEC to refrain from using alleged private election app

Amaravati, Jan 29 : Andhra Pradesh’s ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) requested the State Election Commissioner (SEC) Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar to choose an application (mobile app) developed by the Election Commission of India (ECI) and not any alleged private app to monitor the panchayat polls on Friday.
“It is hereby requested that the SEC for the state of AP may choose the apps created by the central election commission (ECI)aand desist from placing reliance on private entity,” said YSRCP general secretary Lella Appi Reddy.

New Delhi [India], January 25 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a petition filed by the Andhra Pradesh government challenging the State Election Commission s (SEC) order to hold Panchayat polls in the state.
Andhra Pradesh government had challenged the order of the state SEC on the ground of vaccination drive to stop the polls in the state.
A bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul dismissed the petition filed by the Andhra Pradesh government on the issue.
Andhra Pradesh High Court on January 21 directed the state government to hold Panchayat elections as scheduled by the SEC.

Andhra Pradesh [India], January 23 (ANI): The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission on Saturday issued the notification for conducting of elections to gram panchayats in the State.
State Election Commissioner N Ramesh Kumar said: The Commission has full belief, confidence, and loyalty towards the judiciary. We are proceeding with election procedure as per the HC order. We will obey the Supreme Court s orders also as the SC will hear the Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by the state government on Monday. We also will put our version in front of the SC, if necessary.
