Many North Georgia counties suffered damage when Tropical Storm Zeta blew through last October. Some of the impacts can still be felt as counties deal with ongoing repair projects.
Today Governor Brian Kemp requested a Major Disaster Declaration for Tropical Storm Zeta. The request was based on preliminary damage assessments totaling more than $22 million. The disaster declaration approved by President Donald Trump makes public assistance available for 21 counties in Georgia.
“The declaration will provide resources to help offset the costs of Tropical Storm Zeta,” said Chris Stallings, GEMA/HS Director. “It will be a great help to the communities recovering from this event.”

SALT LAKE CITY â Entities that received significant damage because of a windstorm that swept across Utah in early September are now eligible to receive FEMA public assistance funding.
The funding became available when President Donald Trump signed a major disaster declaration for damage caused by the storm on September 7 and 8.
Funding will be made available in Davis, Morgan, Salt Lake and Weber counties, all of which suffered major damage because of hurricane force winds that uprooted trees, destroyed houses, and knocked out power to thousand of Utah homes.

Governor John Bel Edwards announced Tuesday that a Major Disaster Declaration due to damage in Louisiana from Hurricane Zeta has been approved by President Trump. The declaration will provide direct assistance to those people and communities impacted by the storm.
Zeta made landfall in Lafourche Parish on October 28 as a very strong likely Category 3 system, with sustained winds of at least 110 mph, higher wind gusts, and heavy rainfall. In addition, some areas hit by Zeta are still recovering from Category 4 Hurricane Laura, Category 2 Hurricane Delta, and the ongoing battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.
