Industrial Fabrics Inc. is investing $8 million to establish a new production facility in Pointe Coupee Parish.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Baton Rouge and surrounding areas until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

UPDATE (5/31/24, 1:30am) -- the line of showers and thunderstorms continues to weaken while moving east. While some light rain and thunder may continue for the next few hours, the threat for severe weather has ended in the Metro Area. The SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH will expire at 2am Friday.
