New Delhi [India], August 12 (ANI): A trust, in a petition, had urged the Delhi High Court to issue directions to the Centre to remove the disparity in pensionary benefit and to extend the same benefit (old Pension Scheme) to the paramilitary personnel under the Ministry of Home as is given to the Armed forces personnel under the Ministry of Defence. The plea was withdrawn by the petitioner on Thursday.

JAMMU, June 29: President Ram Nath Kovind today empowered the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Union Territory Radha Krishna Mathur to exercise the powers of appropriate Government under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.
A notification to this effect has been issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs after approval of the President of India.
The Union Home Ministry notification empowered the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh to discharge functions of the appropriate under the central Land Acquisition Law.
