Orange Brick Eclectic s Artists Helping Artists show on through Sunday

Times staff report More than 100 art lovers attended the debut Thursday of an exhibit celebrating the diversity of art in the Borderland. The collection produced by artists from across the region is on display through Sunday on the second floor of a warehouse at 2430 Texas Ave. in Central El Paso. The Orange Brick Eclectic’s Artists Helping Artists show, which features photographs, prints, sculpture, music and other original artwork, is a free event that continues from 4 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Works donated by artists helped raise funds for the exhibit.   Face coverings are required and social distancing is encouraged.

El Paso artists unite again to showcase Borderland talent at exhibit

More than 40 artists have donated paintings, prints, photos and other items to help raise money for supplies and the exhibit set for the second floor of the warehouse on Texas Avenue, said Johnny Slasher Wave Galindo. Galindo, 24, who is majoring in painting, sculpture and ceramics at the University of Texas at El Paso, is helping organize the event. On Tuesday night, several artists were at work preparing for the exhibit. Angel Peña and Stéfania Dominguez have created murals for the show, including an intricate, colorful octopus along a section of wall inside the warehouse. Gabriela Chacon also helped paint the mural.
