Early College High School Program at Panhandle State Panhandle State Communications on 06/30/2021
The Early College High School Program at Oklahoma Panhandle State University started in 2018. This program allows exceptionally prepared rising high school sophomore students the ability to begin college coursework on a path to finishing an associate’s degree while they complete their high school diploma.
University President, Dr. Tim Faltyn, said, “I have so much admiration and respect for these students and their willingness to constantly learn, not only at a high school level but also a collegiate level as well. We are excited to be able to be a part of such a life-changing program.”

FREMONT - Thomas Gluth acknowledges he didn t always embrace math as a school subject.
But he got better at it through his years at Fremont Ross High School and also as a Terra State Community College student, where he earned college credits from Terra classes through the Early College Program. I eventually fell in love with what I was doing, Gluth said, adding that he kind of strives through adversity.
More than one degree
Jon Detwiler, Fremont City Schools superintendent, said some of the students will graduate with more than one degree.

Thompson Engineering, a multi-disciplined engineering firm with offices in eight Southeastern states, announced Tuesday that the Thompson Foundation, the charitable fund of affiliated companies Thompson Engineering, Watermark Design, and Thompson Consulting Services, awarded its millionth dollar. The Thompson Foundation awards grants to non-profits and scholarships to students across the affiliated companies’ footprint.
“The Thompson companies have a long history of community service and philanthropic giving and we’re proud to be able to contribute financially to mission-based, non-profit organizations and programs,” said John Baker, chairman of Thompson Holdings and CEO of Thompson Engineering. “The real heroes of this achievement are the numerous charities that use these funds to do great work to better our communities.”

Tulsa Public Schools is putting the future in focus for some of its students with a new program that combines high school with college.
TPS said McLain High School and Memorial High School will launch the “Early College High School Program” in the 2021-2022 school year.
The program will give students the chance to complete their associate s degree from Tulsa Community College, for free, while they earn their high school diploma.
TPS said all current eighth-graders in the district are eligible for the program, but must apply to attend McLain or Memorial.
