A woman in her 40s believed to have the second case of blood clots linked to AstraZeneca in Australia developed the symptoms about two weeks after receiving her vaccination, according to the WA Health Minister.

The woman received her vaccination in mid-March as part of the 1A/1B cohort and reported to the emergency department of a WA regional hospital about a fortnight later, Roger Cook said.
She was then flown to Royal Darwin Hospital.
Australians eligible for the vaccine under stage 1b include those aged over 70, more healthcare and front-line workers and people with certain medical conditions.
The release led to a flood of calls to clinics across the country, with the website incorrectly telling people their local GPs only took phone bookings.

The situation prompted the Australian Medical Association and The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners to issue a joint statement calling on the federal government to urgently clarify the booking process for patients.
âItâs clear from the calls many general practices have received this morning that the government needs to better communicate with the community on the vaccine rollout process, and not build unrealistic expectations, particularly at this early stage,â RACGP president Dr Karen Price said.
