Queensland Health confirms one historical COVID-19 case 12/04/2021|4min
Queensland health authorities have confirmed a historical coronavirus case which was in close contact to the so-called “super-spreader” event in Byron Bay last month.
Chief Health Officer Dr Jeanette Young announced the person is a recovered case and it was likely they acquired the infection while down in Byron.
The case also quarantined at home during the entirety of their infectious period and so posed no risk to the community.
“There is no need to change any of our policy positions, it just shows a significant super spreader event at that part which we suspected all along,” Dr Young said.
