Israel extends Green Pass for vaccinated through end of 2021
Extension, which Health Ministry says was made over continued decline in cases and projected efficacy of vaccine, comes as ministers approve increasing attendance limits at sports and culture events for Green Pass holders

The Health Ministry announced Wednesday that it will be extending the Green Pass for those who are either vaccinated against or who recovered from coronavirus until December 2021.
The certificate grants its holders access to certain events and venues.

A statement from the ministry said that the extension was made under the order of Health Minister Yuli Edelstein following a continued decline in morbidity and assessments that the vaccines protection can last at least until the end of the year.

Coronavirus czar Prof. Nachman Ash said Monday that Israel is expected to return to normalcy when it arrives at 7 million vaccinated citizens, which he added is expected around the summertime.
Regarding the upcoming Passover holiday, Ash said that no special restrictions are expected to be in place, but that families should keep festivities to a minimum of 20 people indoors and 50 outdoors.
Commenting on reports that Health Ministry DG Prof. Hezi Levi is set to soon retire from his post, and his name being brought up as a potential replacement, Ash said that he spokes with Prof. Levi who denied this, and I hope he will continue at his post.

Israel may soon lift a host of new restrictions, including reopening amusement parks and allowing up to 3,000 people in stadiums, the country s coronavirus czar said Thursday.
Israel this week began the third phase of its lockdown exit, lifting a host of major restrictions, including some in place since September such as indoor dining, event halls and concerts. The restrictions are lifted for Green Pass holders who have received both vaccine shots or people who have recovered from COVID-19.
