Punjab govt under scanner over allegations of selling vaccines to private hospitals State health minister orders probe, says his department not concerned with vaccination drive
Punjab s Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu on Friday said he has ordered a probe into the Oppositions allegations that the state government has been diverting Covid vaccines to private hospitals.
Sidhu made the statement when he was specifically asked about the Oppositions allegation.
“What I have learnt through media, I have already ordered for a probe and we will order a proper inquiry. We will keep the issue before the chief minister,” he said.
Without going into the specifics of the allegations, he said he will first wait for the entire picture to emerge.

Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], June 4 (ANI): Responding to allegations by the opposition about COVID-19 vaccines being sold to private hospitals by the state government for profit, Punjab health ministerBalbir Singh Sidhu on Friday said that he will definitely initiate an inquiry.
While speaking to reporters, Singh said that it was not his department, and an inquiry will be made for the same. I don t have control over vaccines. This comes under the Chief Secretary and other officials. I just look over treatment, testing, sampling of COVID-19 and vaccination camps. We will definitely set an inquiry, I myself can inquire about the matter, he said.
Criticising the Punjab government for selling government quota vaccines to private hospitals, AAP state affairs co-in charge Raghav Chadha on Friday said the government has committed another major vaccine scam . He asked Chief Minister .
