Mr Foley praised Victorians for running its Delta and Kappa outbreaks to the ground. The efforts of the Victorian people have been outstanding as we have run to ground simultaneously both the Kappa variants imported from South Australian hotel quarantine and a Delta variant that leaked out of, we suspect, hotel quarantine but still unaccounted for, he said. The good news is that the position here in Victoria is stable. That means that we can ease our restrictions further.
The settings are set to remain in place for the next 14 days.
More than 9000 people have returned to Victoria from red zones and 65,000 people from orange zones since June.

Victoria has announced a further easing of restrictions as the state slowly inches its way back to COVID-normal as the state recorded zero locally acquired cases over the past week.
Victorian Health Minister Martin Foley was quick to pin the blame for ongoing restrictions on the Morrison government’s slower than expected distribution of the vaccine and interstate COVID-19 outbreaks.
“The good news is that the position here in Victoria is stable. That means that we can ease our restrictions further,” he told press on Wednesday.

Anthony Albanese has seized on reports of three aged care residents in Sydney being infected with COVID-19, blaming the Morrison government for its failure in rolling out the vaccine program.
The three were infected by two staff members and were among 16 new local cases across NSW reported on Sunday. It was another reminder of this government s incompetence when its comes to the rolling out of the vaccine, the opposition leader told reporters in Canberra.
But Deputy Chief Medical Officer Michael Kidd said all but one of the 2566 residential aged care facilities across the country have received both their first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccination.
