The Philippines logged 1,156 new coronavirus disease cases on Wednesday, pushing the tally to 452,988.
The Department of Health (DOH) also disclosed that they are monitoring 12 cities as these areas registered a reproduction rate of more than one.

The reproduction number indicates the possible number of people being infected by a sick person. “The goal is for the reproduction number to be less than one, which would mean that, on average, an infected person is infecting less than one person, eventually stopping the transmission of,” the DOH said.
