The Vietnamese Ministry of Health said that COVAX Facility has committed to provide Vietnam with nearly 40 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, enough for over 19 million people categorized as priority.
As a result, Vietnam does not need to buy more AstraZeneca vaccines.
Vietnam will receive 38.9 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine from COVAX, so the Ministry of Health has said there is no need to buy more vaccines.
Deputy Minister of Health Truong Quoc Cuong has sent a document about the vaccines to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Vietnam started providing COVID-19 vaccinations to health workers in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and northern Hai Duong Province on Monday morning.
A
decision signed by Deputy Minister of Health Truong Quoc Cuong on Saturday showed that the 117,600 COVID-19 vaccine doses that Vietnam currently has would be distributed to 13 provinces and cities, 21 hospitals and medical centers, as well as the Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of National Defense.
The process began on Monday morning at four locations in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hai Duong Province.
