Governor Jon Husted, and Ohio Department of Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Bruce Vanderhoff provided the following updates on Ohio s response to the COVID-19 pandemic on Tuesday. VACCINATION PHASES Governor DeWine recapped Phases 1A and 1B of Ohio s vaccine distribution plan. Because the availability of the vaccine remains limited in Ohio and across the country, Ohio is taking a phased approach that prioritizes the most vulnerable citizens, those in the healthcare field, and school staff members. Phase 1A, which is currently underway, includes approximately 1 million Ohioans.

Holy Cross: 2,000+ Nonprioritized People Erroneously Signed Up for Vaccine

Holy Cross Hospital Germantown More than 2,000 ineligible people erroneously signed up to receive a COVID-19 vaccine from Holy Cross Health. Holy Cross Health announced that on Dec. 30, the hospital system, which has locations in Germantown and Silver Spring, sent an email to employees with a link where they could sign up to schedule a time to receive the coronavirus vaccine. The signup link was through “Prepmod,” the system Maryland is using for vaccine clinic registration. The state of Maryland is currently in vaccine priority phase 1A meaning healthcare workers, first responders, and staff and residents at long-term care facilities are able to receive the available Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. Kristin Feliciano, the chief strategy officer for Holy Cross Health, said in a statement that the email was intended for staff in the 1A group.
