Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 2) The Department of Health says the Health Technology Assessment Council is set to come out with its recommendations on the Sinovac vaccine.
Speaking at the Laging Handa breifing on Tuesday, Health Spokesperson Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said assessments are done as soon as documents are received. As soon as NITAG (National Immunization Technical Advisory Group) has received the document from FDA,

ang dokumento at sila rin ay nag-aaral na. Pero kailangan po maintindihan ng ating mga kababayan, HTAC is an economic tool, she said.
Opposition Senator Francis ‘’Kiko’’ Pangilinan, president of the 75-year-old Liberal Party (LP), issued the statement in response to President Duterte’s rants against Robredo on the COVID-19 issue.

“The science of the vaccine…has been well worked up. It’s all there. We know what it’s supposed to do, what it can do, what you have to be aware of and so on and so forth. And there are many international bodies including WHO [World Health Organization] … that say, ‘yes we can use it’ under the following condition,” he added.
It seemed like Vice President Leni Robredo has no interest to answer President Duterte’s rant that focused on her criticisms of how China’s Sinovac skipped a step in the approval process.
