Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has issued a warning against funeral parlors holding wakes or “burol” at home.
Belmonte on Wednesday warned funeral parlor personnel that they could be fined P5,000 and could face revocation of business permit if they allow such at home as it is still prohibited under Ordinance No. SP-2907 S-2000.
The mayor issued the same warning against barangay officials as they could also be fined P5,000, face imprisonment of up to six months or be charged under Republic Act No. 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Disease and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 14) Ahead of the reopening of Bohol to tourists on Tuesday, its governor warned against those who are planning to tamper with their COVID-19 results before entering the province.
During the Laging Handa briefing on Monday, Bohol Governor Arthur Yap said tourists cannot fake their swab test results in their pre-registration portal, as the provincial government has partnered with accredited laboratories that can verify their validity.
Tourists are required to register their confirmed hotel bookings, transport and tours, along with their negative swab test results taken within a 72-hour period via tourism.bohol.gov.ph, the provincial government s official tourism website.

He made the call in his virtual speech during the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines’ (ULAP) #BeatCOVID19 Dialogue series last December 10, in which he lauded LGUs for their untiring service and for sufficiently responding to the needs of their constituents.

More than anything else, let us not be complacent, we will prioritize the welfare of the majority and the life of every Filipino,” Go told local chief executives, league presidents, and representatives from national agencies present during the event.
