SA new Covid-19 cases drop below 1,000 mark Updated Anastasi Mokgobu Share this: South Africa has seen a drop in new Covid-19 cases – falling to below the 1 000 mark in the 24 hours up to Monday evening.  Coronavirus blood test/ iStock According to the latest stats by Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize, the country has recorded 897 new cases.  This brings the country’s total cases to 1 584 961.  Mkhize says a further 35 new Covid-19 related deaths have been confimred.  Limpopo and North West recorded zero deaths.  Mpumalanga and Western Cape have 1 new fatality each.  The Eastern and Northern Cape provinces recorded 2 new related deaths each, the Free State 6, Gauteng 7 and KwaZulu-Natal 16 fatalities.
