Three Azure Cloud Data Centers to begin operations in early 2022

Ayeni Olusegun/ The Peninsula  The Minister of Transport and Communications H E Jassim bin Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti said the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) is determined to place Qatar as a regional ICT hub and a destination for international investors by investing in cloud computing.  The Minister disclosed this during a virtual event hosted by the MoTC and Microsoft to celebrate the first anniversary of cloud migration via Microsoft Azure. The Minister also announced the completion of construction and infrastructure for three data centers for Microsoft Azure that would begin operations in the first quarter of 2022, making Qatar the 55th Azure region in the world. 

PHCC introduces measures to improve entry and waiting process at QNCC

Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has announced that several new measures have been taken to improve the entry and waiting process for patients who want to get vaccinated against COVID-19 at the National Vaccination Center. The National Vaccination Center is located at the Qatar National Convention Centre and authorities taking part in the development and implementation of the new measures include Hamad Medical Corporation, PHCC, the Ministry of Interiors, Al Fazaa, the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs, QNCC and Qatar Red Crescent. This development is part of a continuous effort to ensure the safety and security of those wishing to receive the vaccine, especially with the expansion of the groups eligible for vaccination, and is designed to protect the general public, the medical and administrative staff, and the organizers working at the vaccination center.

Ministry fixes rate for Covid-19 tests in private health facilities

 07 Apr 2021 - 21:30 The Peninsula Online Doha: The Ministry of Public Health decided to unify the price of Coronavirus (Covid-19) examination in private health facilities, starting tomorrow, Thursday, April 8. The Ministry announced its decision to fix a flat rate of QR300 for Covid-19 testing in private health facilities.   This decision follows the announcement made by Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) to temporarily stop the provision of COVID-19 PCR swabs for people traveling abroad. This step was taken to relieve pressure on PHCC teams and enable them to focus on providing services for people with COVID-19 and for those being vaccinated. Noura Abdullah Al Mulla, Director of Health Facilities Licensing and Accreditation Department, pointed out that the standardization of the price of swabs comes to relieve the health care workers, adding that the Ministry will monitor the commitment of private health care facilities to the unified price of the swabs.
