The State crosses one crore inoculations of Covid-19 vaccine. Karnataka negotiates with Remdisivir makers in the state and gets assurance to supply 20,000 vials per day for the next five days.
“I have spoken to company heads of four companies, and they have agreed to increase the supply to 20,000 vials. Till now, these companies were supplying 10,000 vials per day,” said Deputy Chief Minister and State Covid task force head Dr C N Ashwathanarayan.
He further said the companies have agreed to further increase the supply after May 9.
The minister had a telephonic conversation with Nickil Baswan · Vice President & Group Head - Corporate Affairs & Policy at Cipla, Rakesh B of Mylan, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw of Biocon group (Syngene) and a representative from Jubilant.

Women of childbearing age in Gombe State have appealed to the government at all levels and donor agencies particularly those operating in the health sector to ensure that there is steady availability of child spacing commodities at a free cost to them in all health facilities.
This became necessary because more women have embraced the child spacing services aimed at keeping them and their children healthy based on a visit to two Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in the Gombe metropolis.
Pudukottai’s mental health programme is proving to be a boon during the pandemic

Over 8,500 people have benefited from the District Mental Health Programme in Pudukottai since last year. The programme also has a helpline, through which COVID-19 patients, their contacts and even healthcare workers dial in for counselling.
At the time of inception in March 2020, counselling was undertaken for stress management, and training was imparted to nurses, and other medical and non-medical staff at Primary Health Centres (PHCs). Thursdays were identified as ‘Mental Health Thursdays’ across Pudukottai for conduct of awareness programmes through all PHCs and government hospitals.
