Latest updates - A38 lane closed on Tamar Bridge due to police incident

One lane is currently closed on the A38 at the Tamar Bridge after a police incident .
The shut lane is the outer pedestrian cantilever lane, currently being used as an additional lane while resurfacing works on the Tamar Bridge are undertaken.
The incident has led to slow traffic with congestion westbound for traffic leaving Plymouth reported being as far back as St Budeaux Junction.
Traffic reporting service Inrix says: One lane blocked and very slow traffic due to police incident on A38 Westbound on Tamar Bridge.

Firefighters who tackled a large blaze at a barn which led to a major incident being declared have said the cause of the incident was accidental .
Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) were called out to the scene which is not far from Whitsand Bay Golf Course at around 1.40pm on Wednesday (March 3) after receiving reports of an outbuilding being alight.
A major incident was soon declared and road closures put in place near the site as several crews from CFRS along with some from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the flames.

Cornwall’s Director for Public Health, Rachel Wigglesworth added: “At each stage, they will examine the data to assess the impact of releasing the rules. It is not absolute or set in stone. There will be four tests. One of these is vaccine rollout and how that progresses as well as evidence that the vaccine rollout is effective in reducing hospitals and death, another is infection rates at the time and making sure they don’t overwhelm hospitals and the final one is an assessment of the risk in any new variants that might appear and the impact they may have.
