Reports of interest: Intersection of E. 22nd St. and S. Main St., possession of schedule IV or V controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia. Quality Inn, 704 W. Michigan St., obstructing governmental operations, resisting arrest. The suspect was transported to the Arkansas County Detention Center. Walmart, 406 E. 22nd St., hit and run. Damage reported to driver’s side rear bumper of a 2017 Toyota Corolla after the driver backed into a yellow pole. Damage to the pole was estimated at $400. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $200. Intersection of W. McKinley St. and N. Lowe St., first-degree criminal mischief. Officers conducting a traffic stop heard unrelated gunfire and responded to the area from which the sounds came. Several vehicles were observed leaving the area and police found several shell casings. In coordination with Arkansas County Sheriff Dean Mannis, the Stuttgart Civil and Human Rights Party (SCHRP) held a cleanup of Stuttgart neighborhoods Thursday and Friday, May 13 and May 14. Arkansas County Detention Center inmates helped pick up debris in neighborhoods on the east side of Stuttgart last Thursday and Friday. Inmates from the Arkansas County Detention Center, alongside SCHRP founder Robert Chambers, picked up trash in neighborhoods on the east side of Stuttgart commonly known to residents as Rock Island, New Edition, and Cross the Track.

Employee reported receiving threatening telephone calls while at work. 700 block of W. First St., first-degree criminal mischief. Damage reported to door of residence during argument. E-Z Mart, 501 S. Buerkle St., theft of property. Reported shoplifting, suspect arrested and transported to Arkansas County Detention Center. Intersection of E. Rose St. and S. 19th St., second-degree assault.
