Man pleads guilty to two capital murder charges
FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas (KFSM) Dekota Harvey pled guilty to two counts of capital murder and one count of attempted capital murder in court on Tuesday (March 9).
Harvey, 24, was arrested for the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Elizabeth Dawson at a Fayetteville apartment complex in 2019. He’s also accused of shooting and injuring another woman inside the home.
Harvey faced a capital murder charge and an attempted capital murder charge in connection with the shootings.
While in jail, he admitted to killing another inmate, Luis Cobos-Cenobio, who Harvey said wanted to die.
Another capital murder charge was issued for Harvey for the death of Cobos-Cenobio.
Anna Runau was found guilty of criminal attempt to commit first degree murder and sentenced to 20 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction. Runau, 24, was charged following a stabbing at Buzzard Roost Marina that was reported Aug. 31, 2015.
Arkansas Department of Corrections records show Runau’s earliest possible parole date is scheduled for May 25, just four days after her 21-year-old sister Amber Runau is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on a charge of first-degree murder in connection with a fatal stabbing.
Amber Runau faces a charge a of first-degree murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of her 72-year-old wheelchair-bound neighbor. Amber’s defense attorney notified the court the defense planned to use mental disease or defect as a defense theory.
Former State Senator Bobby L. Glover of Carlisle
Former State Senator Bobby L. Glover of Carlisle has been reappointed by Governor Asa Hutchinson to a new seven-year term to the Arkansas Board of Corrections. The board oversees the operations of the Arkansas Department of Corrections, which includes the Division of Correction, the Division of Community Correction, and the Arkansas Correctional School System. Glover was originally appointed to the Board of Corrections by Governor Mike Beebe in February 2011, and reappointed by Governor Beebe in 2014.
The Division of Correction has 18 prisons that are scattered all over the state with over 4,500 employees that are responsible for more than 16,000-plus inmates incarcerated in the system.

NEWPORT, Ark. (KAIT) - In Jackson County, one citizen is concerned about his community’s safety and health as flooding continues to be an issue, demanding his city leaders do something about it.
“From Sam’s house to my mom’s house, to about three houses down, if we don’t want to wade in the water, we have to park our cars at the opposite end of the street and then walk home,” Leila Street resident Kevin Lee said.
