Tyson Foods to Expand Arkansas Poultry Operation Nearly 70 jobs to be created by $48 million project

SPRINGDALE, Ark., April 22, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) Tyson Foods (NYSE: TSN) will invest $48 million as part of its commitment to accelerate the long-term growth of its poultry business and continued success of its Pine Bluff, Arkansas, poultry plant, company officials said today. Nearly 70 jobs will be created by the project, which is expected to be complete by late 2021.

Tyson Foods announced it will invest $48 million as part of its commitment to accelerate the long-term growth of its poultry business and continued success of its Pine Bluff, AR poultry plant.
Nearly 70 jobs will be created by the project, which is expected to be complete by late 2021.
“The demand for convenient, high-quality chicken products continues to grow and we’re investing in projects that meet the needs of our customers and consumers,” said Donnie King, chief operating officer and group president, Poultry for Tyson Foods. “We’d like to thank the Arkansas Economic Development Commission and the Economic Development Alliance for Jefferson County for their assistance and support of this project.”

Dana Watkins has been named senior vice president of First Security Bank in Jonesboro, while Seth Williams has been named vice president and Kathy Gardner, Alex Beasley and Will Edwards have all been named assistant vice presidents.
Before being named SVP, Watkins managed the bank’s real estate central loan processing department.
Williams was a trust officer for four years at First Security. Gardner provided personalized service to customers as a commercial loan processor and manages additional responsibilities in accounts payable and human resources for First Security.
A series of public meetings has been scheduled for potential customers of a new water project in the Tracy area.
The City of Briarcliff, Engineering Services Incorporated and the Northwest Arkansas Economic Development District (NWAEDD) are partnering with federal and state funding agencies to bring a safe, long-term supply of drinking water to residents in this area of southern Baxter County.
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has granted approximately $1.5 million, and the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC) has awarded $1 million towards this effort.
Prior to the project being put out to bid, USDA requires a minimum number of signups. For this endeavor, that number is 110 customers.
