The WRC’s first visit to Arctic Rally Finland Powered by CapitalBox was a towering success last weekend. Not only did it provide a typically fast and fascinating Finnish round of the championship, but it provided a hugely entertaining event.
Not only was Joulupukki in attendance and keeping a watchful eye over the boys and girls driving in his backyard, Lapland provided a whole bunch of other opportunities for the drivers and co-drivers.
Flying Finn Rovanpera Claims the Championship Lead in the Toyota Yaris WRC
Toyota City, Japan, Mar 01, 2021 - (JCN Newswire) - Kalle Rovanpera has become the youngest ever driver to lead the FIA World Rally Championship standings after finishing in a strong second place on home ground at Arctic Rally Finland, securing the position with the fastest time on the rally-ending Power Stage in his Toyota Yaris WRC.
Twenty-year-old Rovanpera and his co-driver Jonne Halttunen were among the pacesetters from the beginning of the rally, and were holding onto second overall by just 1.8 seconds at the beginning of the final day - a margin they extended by 0.1s in the first of the two passes of the Aittajarvi stage.

Milan, February 28, 2021 – Hyundai driver Ott Tanak led from start to finish of the Arctic Rally Finland, which replaced Rally Sweden this year. Toyota’s Kalle Rovanpera, aged just 20, finished second overall – his best-ever result – to take the championship lead, while teenager Oliver Solberg made an excellent World Rally Car debut (with a new co-driver as well) to finish seventh overall in another Hyundai.
