In a statement issued on Monday, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Supreme Council of Armenia said that the party held a General Assembly over the weekend and elected a new body that will govern its activities for the next two years.
A multi-faceted discussion and analysis was done on the current situation in the country, as well as Armenia’s security concerns, according to the statement, which added that the course of the party’s activities for the upcoming two years was determined by the delegated who attended the meeting.
Elected as the new ARF Supreme Council of Armenia were Ishkhan Saghatelian, who will continue to chair the body, Simon Simonyan, Lilit Galstyan, Artsvik Minasyan, Mikael Manukyan, Taron Donoyan, Ashot Simonyan, Hagop Matilyan, Igor Sargsyan, Argishti Gevorkyan, Suren Manukyan, Bagrat Yesayan and Petros Meghryan.

The opposition Homeland Salvation Movement said Thursday that it would participate in a proposed meeting by President Armen Sarkissian if it will discuss its proposed agenda.
In an announced issued by the movement’s leadership council, the group emphasized that “the country is on the verge of a national catastrophe, the security, political, socio-economic crises are deepening, and the reasons and those responsible for it are well known.”
“The Homeland Salvation Movement reaffirms its roadmap for overcoming the crisis: the resignation of the Prime Minister, the formation of an interim government, and early parliamentary elections,” the announcement said.
At His Own Rally, Pashinyan Again Backtracks on Snap Elections
Homeland Salvation Movement activists, who have been blocking Baghramyan Street for days, were joined by thousands of other protesters on Monday, when the movement held a rally in support of the Armenian Armed Forces under the banner of “Nation, Army, Victory.”
Minutes later, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, whose resignation the Homeland Salvation Movement is demanding, held his own rally at Republic Square, where he told his supporters that he would call snap parliamentary elections if the parliamentary opposition agreed to it. This was another u-turn by the prime minister who weeks ago announced that snap elections were not necessary because there wasn’t enough popular support for them, at that time, backtracking from a pledge he had made in December to consult with all political factions and schedule snap polls.
