Man in Arlington charged with carrying concealed weapon after police investigate threats near school

A man in Arlington County, Virginia, has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon after police investigating threats reportedly made by a student near Wakefield High School discovered a gun under the driver’s seat of his vehicle. Michael Davis, 40, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Police said he was inside a vehicle parked in the area of S. Frederick Street and S. George Mason Drive across from the high school Tuesday. Also inside, “in plain view inside the vehicle, officers observed a ballistic vest carrier,” police said in a news release.

May 11, 2021 at 2:15pm A knife-wielding man carjacked a rideshare vehicle in Ballston this morning and drove off with the passenger still inside, police say. The Arlington County Police Department announced the man’s arrest Tuesday afternoon. According to police, the carjacking happened around 7 a.m. on the 900 block of N. Stafford Street, near the Ballston Metro station. Officers spotted the car in the Lyon Park neighborhood, south of Clarendon, and initiated a pursuit that eventually ended on S. Glebe Road near the Arlington Ridge Giant supermarket. A 27-year-old Alexandria man is now facing carjacking and abduction charges. The passenger was not injured.

Police are looking for this man suspected of assaulting an Asian employee of an Arlington restaurant in a possible hate crime. Police are investigating a possible hate crime after a man pushed the owner of an Arlington restaurant to the ground and used racial slurs after he was confronted about skipping out on the bill. Henry Kim and his mother, who are both Asian, own Bonsai Grill in Crystal City. They said on Tuesday, a customer ate about $70 worth of food and then walked out. Together they followed him and asked him to pay.
