The trails, originally launched 20 years ago, will be updated to include public and private sites known for exceptional birding and outdoor recreation, according to a release from Nungessser s Office. The update is part of a process to assess, evaluate, and redesign the existing trails. The project is funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration. “Louisiana is an ideal destination for birding enthusiasts and I’m excited to begin this process to better promote and share Louisiana’s beautiful outdoors and variety of wildlife with visitors from across the world,” said Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. “Submit your online nominations to be a part of this amazing project.”
