West Palm Beach’s Northwood Village has welcomed two new indie eateries, adding to the district’s eclectic landscape.
Parisian-born brothers Olivier and Edouard Delrieu, who own Petanque backyard bar on Northwood Road, recently opened an al fresco rotisserie restaurant just down the street. Their French Grill House, which took over the former Table 427 space, focuses on meats and fish roasted over woodfire, served with French-style sauces and enjoyed in an open-air courtyard.
Also on Northwood Road, restaurant industry veterans Jon Scott and Colleen Hickey opened Northwood Canteen and Provisions in the former Bistro Bistro space a few months ago. They’ve kept some of the former bistro’s favorites, like the brioche bread and the quiche, but have introduced a more diverse, lunch-focused menu.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) The Pier Sixty-Six, Fort Lauderdale’s onetime jewel of a resort, sits silent and empty, a conspicuous symbol of the pandemic’s economic disruption.
The signature 17-story tower building, at 2301 SE 17th St., stands alone as a hollowed-out hulk after the demolition of adjacent buildings. A plan to rehab it including restoration of the rotating lounge atop the building won’t be done until 2023, a year later than expected.
“Unfortunately, COVID did cause delays to the start of construction,” Jessi Blakley, a Tavistock vice president, acknowledged Monday.
