NEWPORT NEWS, Va. The Virginia State Police recovered two stolen guns after a short chase on I-64 in Newport News Tuesday afternoon.
A release from Sgt. Michelle Anaya, the VSP s spokeswoman, said the chase started when a sergeant clocked a 2016 Toyota Corolla driving 106 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone.
The driver of that car did not pull over when the trooper turned on emergency lights, and after a brief chase, lost control of the vehicle.

YORK COUNTY, Va. - State Police are investigating a crash that left an 18-year-old man with life threatening injuries Tuesday morning.
According to officials, around 8:31 a.m. police were called to investigate a two vehicle crash on Merrimac Trail and Armstrong Drive, involving a VDOT sign repair truck and a Chevrolet Blazer.
Based on the preliminary investigation, the 18-year-old driver of a Chevrolet Blazer, Sterling Piggott, was traveling westbound on Merrimac Trail when he drifted into the eastbound lanes of travel, striking a VDOT sign repair truck headon.

YORK COUNTY, Va. Around 8:30 a.m., the Virginia State Police said a Chevrolet Blazer and a VDOT truck crashed in York County, leaving both drivers hurt, and one with life-threatening injuries.
A release from investigators said the accident happened near Merrimac Trail and Armstrong Drive.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. A hit-and-run crash that occurred near the Monitor-Merrimac Bridge-Tunnel left one woman hurt and police are looking for answers.
Virginia State Police said they were called on Monday, Dec. 28 around 4:42 a.m., to a vehicle accident that happened on Interstate 664 Southbound. This was south of the MMMBT.
The initial report came in of a vehicle that was seen hanging over the side of the bridge, officers said.
