Photo: Radar PEOPLE living in areas of Wirral where homes are older and less energy efficient can get help to lower their bills whilst keeping their property warm and more environmentally friendly. The scheme will allow those eligible to access up to £10,000 worth of home improvement works for either insulation or installing solar power. Installing either insulation or solar panels for electricity or heating water will not only make a home more environmentally friendly by reducing the CO2 emissions, and therefore the carbon footprint of the home, but will help to lower bills by reducing the amount of energy required for heating.

Local authority will provide the majority of funding, alongside financial backing from the government, to support Energiesprong-focused project to revamp some social housing in the borough
Enfield Council has set aside over £3m in funding to retrofit 36 council homes with more energy efficient fabric and heating solutions as part of a regional refurbishment strategy.
The planned work to perform whole-house retrofits of properties the council manages in the wards of Edmonton Green, Upper Edmonton and Haselbury will be undertaken with support from a range of low carbon schemes backed by either central government or the Mayor of London’s Office.
