LIMA With a date before a judge and a jury looming in just two weeks, the attorney for Dejuan Lucas on Friday said his client is “eager to have a trial and face his accusers.”
Lucas, 26, is one of two Lima residents charged with involuntary manslaughter in the drug-related death in May of last year of Dino Gerdeman, 59, of Lima.
Burglary nets Lima man a 6-year prison term

Devon Eccard, pictured with his attorney, Athena Nyers, was sentenced Wednesday to six years in prison on a charge of burglary. Eccard pleaded guilty in February to breaking into a home on Elmwood Place in Lima last summer.

LIMA A Lima man who randomly broke into a city woman’s residence last summer and stole food, costume jewelry and other assorted items was sentenced Wednesday to six years in prison on a second-degree felony count of burglary.
Devon Eccard, 35, apologized to the resident of the home, who was present in the courtroom, and said to her, “Who I was then is not who I am today. My actions were uncalled for.”
