The Glynn County Commission met this afternoon at 3 and immediately went into executive session. When they emerged Bill Brunson made a motion to name Jeff Chapman, Tonya Miller and Alicia Vaughn as the three finalists for the position of county manager. It failed 3-4, with Brunson, Allen Booker, and O Quinn voting in favor. Afterward, Cap Fendig made a motion to name Jeff Chapman as the sole finalist. The vote passed with Commissioners Rafolski, Tostensen, Fendig, and Chairman Neal in favor. At the last Commission meeting, Sammy Tostensen s motion to name Chapman as a finalist for the position was narrowly defeated 3-3-1, with Islands Commissioner Cap Fendig abstaining. Chapman is currently in his second term as Glynn County Tax Commissioner. A replacement will be appointed to serve out the remainder of his term upon his hiring.
