McGill Ward at hospital awarded £3k from Winchester Flyers

A WARD at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital (RHCH) in Winchester has received a generous donation of £3,000 from the Winchester City Flyers football club. The donation was given to the McGill Ward as a huge thank you to staff for all their hard work throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. The money will be used to refurbish the staff break room, where the team can enjoy a well-earned break and can take a moment to relax and re-charge. Laura Osman, clinical matron of the McGill Ward at RHCH, run by Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “It has been a challenging time but knowing that the entire community has been behind us the whole time has made a real difference. We are so grateful that the Winchester Flyers team were thinking of us and decided to raise money in so many amazing ways - it’s so touching and a real boost to our team.

ETU slams fat cat salaries as workers pay flatlines

Electrical Trades Union The Electrical Trades Union has hit out at the sickening hypocrisy of the NSW Government, amid revelations more than 30 executives in the Transport department are paid above the top of the pay scale despite wage austerity for everyone else. The Sun Herald today revealed Transport for NSW is paying 34 executives above the maximum “internal remuneration range” this year, despite imposing a pay rise wage cap on the rest of the public sector workforce of less than 2.5 per cent. One executive is paid $388,000 for a role with a pay range of $233,730 to $311,599, while another earned $58,000 above the role’s salary package maximum of $354,000.
