FedEx killer legally bought two assault rifles prior to his deadly spree say police, despite him being put on a mental health hold last year after his mom reported him to the FBI who took his shotgun
Brandon Scott Hole, 19, opened fire at the FedEx in Indianapolis on Thursday night where he killed eight people and injured seven others before killing himself
The victims have been identified, ranging in ages from 19 to 74 years old
Hole s family released a statement on Saturday, apologizing for the shooting and stating that they tried to get Hole help previously
In March 2020, Hole s mother reported her son to the authorities, who placed him under a mental health temporary hold and removed a shotgun
Indianapolis is still reeling from the shock of a mass shooting at a FedEx facility that left eight people dead and several others wounded.
But for DeAndra Dycus, Pamela Wooden, Brenda Hutson and other members of Purpose 4 My Pain, the turmoil is more personal. They’ve all lost children to gun violence. It’s a club whose membership they wouldn’t wish on anyone, so when they heard the news that eight more families were now experiencing the same pain, Dycus said they knew they needed to act.
“I wanted to show solidarity in our community, because we’re tired,” Dycus said. “Enough is enough. And I wanted families who have been impacted by gun violence to know their community is here to support them.”

INDIANAPOLIS The 19-year-old gunman who fatally shot eight people at a FedEx plant Thursday used two legally purchased assault rifles, police said Saturday, raising new questions as many call for tighter restrictions on powerful firearms and more safeguards on who can own them.
