Kirksville police investigating homicide on South Baltimore The Kirksville Police Department has a suspect in custody following a homicide on Thursday evening.  According to a news release from the police department, at around 5:09 p.m., KPD, Kirksville Fire and Adair County Ambulance personnel responded to a home on the 800 block of South Baltimore regarding a man who was assaulted with a knife. Emergency staff began treating that man, a 49-year-old Kirksville resident. He was taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center and did not survive his injuries. During the ensuing on-scene investigation, police were given the description of a 17-year-old male suspect, a male witness and a vehicle that left the scene prior to KPD’s arrival. Officers located the witness and at around 9:39 p.m., officers located the suspected vehicle at the intersection of Wilson and Orchard streets.
