Nova Entertainment is in the business of being “where the listeners are” rather than attempting to shape listener habits, head of podcasts and digital content, Rachel Corbett, tells Mumbrella.
Its launch is off the back of a steady stream of podcast announcements over recent weeks and months, with Nova Entertainment ramping up its original and in-house productions.
This year the slate has expanded with titles including drag superstars Courtney Act and Vanity with ‘Brenda, Call Me!’, Angie Kent’s ‘Angie Tries It’, and just this week with Harley Breen and Nikki Briton’s ‘Mates Talking About Stuff’.
Australian Radio Network (ARN) has launched a new television commercial for Perth’s 96FM to celebrate 40 years of ‘real music’.
ARN said the commercial was created after research conducted among 96FM’s listeners found that ‘real music’ evokes a physical response among listeners, and just like the station itself, stands the test of time.
The commercial features a number of close-up shots of various facial expressions from listeners as ‘Take Me Back’ by Australian ’80s rock band Noiseworks plays in the background, linking back to the station’s 40-year history on the airwaves.
96FM’s managing director Gary Roberts said that the new campaign perfectly embodied the nature of the station.

The 49-year-old set up a rogue production effort from his office in Sydney s Kings Cross this week, leaving his co-host Jackie O Henderson to broadcast from ARN headquarters in North Ryde.
Explaining the move on Monday s Kyle and Jackie O, he initially blamed a chest infection for his absence from the KIIS FM studio, before taking swipes at his bosses and announcing he wants to move production of his breakfast show in-house.
