Dismiss May 29, 2021 12.05am Normal text size Credit: Another lockdown in Victoria has been driven by the lack of federal initiative in developing dedicated, design-built facilities for people from overseas requiring quarantine (“NSW on alert as Victoria flares up”, May 28). The need for NSW to be on high alert once again is an overflow from the increase in Victoria’s cases, which was imported from a South Australian person becoming infected in a hotel with inadequate ventilation systems to deal with the spread of this infection. The states have repeatedly asked the federal government for purpose-built quarantine facilities, beyond Howard Springs, but to no avail. The feds just shift the onus back to the states in a never-ending blame game.
