A Michigan man is suing Hertz for not producing a rental car receipt in a timely manner that would have proven his innocence before he was convicted for a 2011 murder.

The receipt showed that Alford was renting a car at an airport in the Lansing, Mich., area around the time of the murder, which happened upward of 30 minutes from the airport, according to White.

A Michigan man has sued Hertz, the car rental company, saying it failed to produce a receipt that would have proved his innocence before he was convicted of a 2011 murder.
The man, Herbert Alford, was convicted in 2016 of second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Michael Adams, 23, in Lansing, Mich. Mr. Alford insisted that he was innocent and that a car rental receipt from the Hertz location at the Lansing airport would prove that he was nowhere near the scene of the murder when it occurred in October 2011.

LANSING, Mich. â A Michigan State Police (MSP) trooper in the Lansing area is facing felonious assault charges after allowing a police dog to attack a suspect who wasn t resisting or running away.
The arrest took place following a traffic stop on Nov. 13 on Willoughby Road and Long Boulevard in Lansing. Trooper Parker Surbrook attempted to pull over a driver who he believed to be armed.
