Date Time Man dies in hospital after crash at Inverell A motorcycle rider has died in hospital following a crash with a vehicle in the state’s north last week. About 9.30pm on Thursday (13 May 2021), emergency services were called to the intersection of Urabatta Street and Bannockburn Road, Inverell, following reports a motorcycle and Mitsubishi Pajero had collided. The rider, a 20-year-old man, was ejected and suffered critical head, hip and leg injuries. He was taken to Inverell Hospital by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being flown to Gold Coast Hospital in a critical condition. The occupants of the Pajero – the 51-year-old male driver and a 21-year-old man – were not injured.

Date Time Police appeal for help to find missing children at Armidale Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a girl and boy missing in the state’s north. Alyshia Spain, aged 12, and her brother Aaron Spain, aged nine, were last seen at 4pm today (Saturday 15 May 2021) at a sports and recreation centre on Mann Street, Armidale. Carers who were with the children contacted police after the children could not be located and officers attached to New England Police District commenced an investigation into their whereabouts. There are serious concerns for their welfare due to the children having medical conditions which require medication and the cold overnight temperatures expected in the region.

Police are appealing for information after reports of a child approach in the state’s west. About 4pm (Saturday May 8 2021), a number of youths were at a park on Balo Street, Moree, when they were approached by an unknown man who offered drinks and food to the group. Police have been told that after buying the youths food and drinks and engaging in a game of ‘tip’ with the children, two girls were inappropriately touched by the man who then chased them south toward Adelaide Street.

Missing teen: 15-year-old Ashley Eggins Police and the family of an Armidale teenager, who went missing from Newcastle two weeks ago, are now calling on the community to help find the boy. 15-year-old Ashley Eggins, who suffers a serious medical condition, was last seen at a home on Lindsay Street in Hamilton on Friday April 30. Officers from New England Police District were told of his disappearance after the teen didn’t return home to Armidale the following day. Ashley is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 165cm tall and of a thin build, with brown eyes and brown hair.
