Northwestern Health Unit reports 10 new positive COVID-19 cases

KENORA, Ont.  The Northwestern Health Unit continues to experience a surge of new COVID-19 cases. The NWHU on Monday reported 10 new positive test results, including four in its Kenora health hub, where there are now 33 active cases. Four additional cases were also reported in the Rainy River health hub, and one each in the Emo and Dryden hubs. The number of active cases in the Fort Frances health hub stands at 20. There are eight cases in the Sioux Lookout health hub. Across the NWHU s catchment area, the active caseload is 75, an improvement from Sunday when it climbed to 90. The area has roughly half the population of that of the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, where the caseload on Monday dropped to 48, the lowest since Jan. 6.
